Preparing for CE1D is a challenge!
Le ce1d is a source of great stress for many of our children. It's true that this external certification exam marks the end of two full years of study. So the stakes are high! How can we help our children to prepare for, and then pass, the ce1d? Let's start with some practical advice.
Practical advice
Start to prepare early. It is important to start getting ready early so that you have enough time to understand the requirements of the test and to practise.
Understand the requirements of the test. Make sure you understand the requirements of the test, the skills being assessed, the format of the questions and the assessment criteria.
Use the resources provided by the school. Use the resources provided by the school, such as textbooks, online courses and exercises to prepare for the test.
Make regular revisions. Revise regularly to consolidate your knowledge and practise solving problems similar to those in the test.
Work as part of a team. If that's possible, work in a team with your classmates or those from other schools, which can help to motivate and support you.
Building trust
Manage your stress. The test can be stressful, so it's important to know how to manage your stress to avoid being upset on the day of the exam.
Take a break. Take regular breaks to rest and relax. Use these moments to walk, exercise, eat a healthy meal or simply relax.
Look after your health. Make sure you eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly and get enough sleep to maintain your physical and mental health.
Be persistent. If you didn't succeed the first time, don't get discouraged and keep practising for the next opportunity.
Get help from experienced professionals
Preparing for the ec1d: your complete solution. 1/ Identifying gaps
It's vital to identify your child's strengths and any weaknesses before taking action. Some children may have difficulties in maths, while others may have difficulties in French. So we'll start by identifying your child's specific needs so that we can address them in a targeted and effective way.
2/ Diagnosis, then reinforcement
A diagnosis carried out by tutoring professionals will give a precise idea of your child's level of preparation for exams in maths, science, French and modern languages (phew!). This will enable us to identify the subjects that need strengthening. We will then focus on active reinforcement to actively consolidate their preparation, paying particular attention to the subjects that need it.
